Dogs need to be trained to
perform certain actions, to understand and response to certain commands. Since they live and interact with people, dog must be taught to behave properly to make them safe and pleasant to be around while also providing the safety
of other people and pets.
Fundamentally, dog training is about communication. Dogs won't develop basic obedience on their own. A dog owner must find the most
humane ways that he would understand.
The handler must communicate to the dog what behaviors are correct, desired, or preferred in what circumstances and what behaviours are undesirable. The handler must also learn to motivate the dog, like giving rewards or corrections, if optimal results are desired.
According to Learning Theory there are four important messages that the handler can send the dog:
Reward or release marker - Correct behavior. Dogs have earned a reward; Keep going signal - Correct behavior. Continue and earn a reward; No reward marker - Incorrect behavior. Try something else; and Punishment marker Incorrect behavior. Dogs have earned punishment. Corrections" should never include harmful physical force or violence. Using force while training is controversial and prohibited in most cases, because even if it ends the behavior, when applied inappropriately with some dogs it may lead to a loss of drive (enthusiasm for the given task), stress, and in some cases even aggression.
Dogs should
be given proper training and guidance to determine
their boundaries and limitations at home.
Most dog owners resort to harnesses and collars for training assistance, but some dogs would respond negatively to leashes. Dogs are naturally playful and they deserve some freedom to move around.

the yard, or out of certain rooms at home, we have the perfect solution

A
Dog's Tale
Dogs have been man's pet for over 14,000 years. Dogs evolved from the wolf family that roamed Europe, Asia, and North America. Scientific discoveries like cave drawings, early pottery, and Asian ivory carvings, had proven man and dogs' long standing relationship . This relationship was believed to be borne out of necessity; dogs wanted shelter and a solid food source, and humans wanted companionship and protection from the wilds of nature.
Classifying dogs into categories began with the Romans. They had the following categories: house dogs, shepherd dogs, sporting dogs, war dogs, dogs that ran by scent, and dogs that ran by sight. Today dogs are classified into similar categories. More than three hundred dog breeds exist worldwide. About 50 million dogs live in the United States. The American Kennel Club recognizes 148 breeds. These are divided into seven groups: terrier, working, sporting, hound, herding, toy, and non-sporting.
